- The next distribution date for St. John’s Effingham Food Pantry is Tuesday, November 26 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations of any type are being accepted for November.
- Grace Ladies Aid will meet Wednesday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Maroon Spoon.
- There will be a Thanksgiving Eve Service on Wednesday, November 27 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John’s Dieterich.
- Confirmation Class meets at Grace on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.
- Divine Worship Services at Grace on Wednesdays at 7:05 p.m. until Advent services begin. These services provide an opportunity for worship for those who are unable to attend on the weekend. All are welcome!
- The mission of Lutheran Care Center is to provide services and facilities for people whose capabilities and needs vary widely. Their annual Care Campaign will be able to enhance the lives of the residents as well as their mission. 2024 projects are Luther Terrace kitchen remodel and tub room upgrade. If you would like to give to the 2024 Care Campaign, donation forms are available in the church narthex or you can mail contributions to Lutheran Care Center, 702 W. Cumberland Road, Altamont, IL 62411. Any amount of monetary donation is greatly appreciated.
- The Effingham County FISH Organization is sponsoring the 20th Annual Free Effingham County Thanksgiving Day Dinner on Thursday, November 28, 2024. They will offer a Congregate meal (starting at 12:30 p.m.), delivered meals, and curbside pickup. Curbside pickup will be available at Cornerstone Christian Church, 3600 South Banker, Effingham, between 11:00 a.m. and 12 noon. Meals will be delivered after 10:00 a.m. This event is free and open to all Effingham County Residents and their families; however, donations are always greatly appreciated and may be sent to: FISH, P.O. Box 473, Effingham. You may start to reserve meals on November 1, 2024 through November 21, 2024. For the Congregate, home delivered and curbside pickup meals, please call (217) 821-4387 by November 21, 2024. Volunteers are needed to help package and deliver meals. They will start cutting pies and packaging meals at 9:00 a.m. To volunteer, please call Susan Elke at 217-868-5913.
- Midweek Advent services will be at 7:00 p.m. on December 4 at St Paul’s Wheeler, December 11 at St. John’s Dieterich, and December 18 at St. Paul’s Wheeler.

- LWML CID Mission Grant Spotlight: Bibles for All – $5,000. Lutheran High School in Springfield wants to provide a Concordia Self-Study Bible for each of their students. In daily use, the variety of Bibles now used leads to confusion and many potential misinterpretations. These funds will be used to purchase 125 Bibles through CPH for the Lutheran High School students. How Can I Help? Pray that God gives a better understanding of the word of God to the students of the Springfield Lutheran High School with the use of these uniform Bibles. Support this grant by donating to your church’s LWML group mite fund.
- MITES for MISSIONS – Loose change in the offering plate will be used to support LWML mite projects.
